Trophy Club, TX, a growing city north of the Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex, was experiencing problems with utilities that many growing cities experience : needs for more pressure and capacity. Phoenix was proud to assist the city in accomplishing both goals in one project.
Trophy Club owned two, 2,000,000-gallon ground storage tanks, which simply were not enough to meet demands. Phoenix analyzed the structures and engineered a plan to raise the tanks an additional 12 ft., thus increasing pressure and capacity to 3,000,000 gallons each. Using a proprietary tank jacking system, Phoenix cut the tank shells loose from their floors and raised the container to allow a new 12 ft. section of shell to be welded into place.
This unique solution saved Trophy Club the added expense of replacing the structures, not to mention the extra time that would have been needed to build new. While the tanks were modified, Phoenix also added and upgraded tank appurtenances as specified while re-painting the structures for years of added use and benefit to the owner.
