Phoenix Fabricators and Erectors foreman Greg Burgess talks with others while overlooking the pieces of a new water tank that is being built in the Hyman community, outside of Pamplico, on Aug. 7, 2014. Within eight months, the $1.2 million project will be online and the Town of Pamplico and neighboring communities will have a new 200,000 gallon water tower. This will give the community a second water tank, providing additional capacity to the area and redundancy–something that has been lacking since Pamplico’s original, dilapidated tank was taken offline. The project was funded through state grants and money from the second penny sales tax.
